This Limited Edition Walk Around Jacket is a timeless treasure – art clothing at its most rich, delicious and practical time. It is about the personality of the wearer not the year it was made. This coat represents the work of Lee Andersen in it’s most pure form.
Hopefully it will be worn at every opportunity for twenty years or longer and be loved even more in it’s increasingly dilapidated state like a favorite teddy bear.
The rich, saturated colors make it flattering on almost any personal coloring. It is welcome in any wardrobe as it goes with any darker colored bottom. It is ideal to wear to an outdoor autumn season art festival, or for private pleasure while walking the dog. It is warm, tough, an easy fit, travels well and is comfortable to wear.
It is a perfect gift for someone who is very special!
It combines fifteen different, richly textured fabrics in a rich visual tapestry that rewards the eye at every turn. Some of the fabrics have been created exclusively from Lee’s paintings and sketches.
Two different deep practical pockets blend into the collage-painting effect of the fronts. The three artisan buttons close at the front with soft black plush button loops.
The top button is bi-colored real horn – half of the surface is polished to a rich shiny black and the other half is left rough, natural and organic.
The second button is a real 50 million year old ammonite fossil from Morocco. This fossil was originally under the ocean but was pushed up to the top of the mountain by tectonic activity.
The third button is a hand-glazed and stamped multicolored real clay button in the shape of an autumn leaf, made exclusively for Lee. An american artisan makes the glaze colors to match the full range of colors in this Walk About coat.
Each piece of fabric in each coat is individually hand cut and sewn in Lee’s studio in Maryland, USA.
