The Fantasy Coat is a wild painterly dreaming-coat for the female with a rich artistic mind and places to go. She is secretly a practical earth-spirit and actually quite likes to be comfortable and cozy!
It is a colorful, warm, and comfortable full length coat with a pop up collar and folded sleeve cuffs that allow for a variety of arm lengths. The main color of the coat is black, supporting the variety of colors in the garment. The coat is made with ten different fabrics of fleece and tapestry style fabrics many of which were design by Lee for her exclusive use.
There are six unique buttons stitched to the blue trim with strong snaps on the inside for the closure of the coat. The first button is a hand formed and hand glazed light blue clay button with brown specks. The second button is polished wood with a carved leaf and hand dremeled edges. The third button is a real 50 million year old ammonite fossil. The fourth is a hand made and hand glazed ceramic button painted light blue, grey, and teal. The fifth button is rectangular hand shaped wood. The last button is a ceramic leaf glazed in fall colors of rusty pink, green, and brown.
The collar and sleeve cuffs are made with three different colors of cable fleece- blue, brown and cerise. There are eight panels that run down the front of the coat, five panels on the right and three on the left. The top right panel is a painting of a night forest with purple, green, rust, and black. The second panel has denim friendly diagonal stripes of blue, green, and black. The next panel is a textured tapestry fabric made from woven yarns of yellow, green, brown, pink, purple, and grey. The fourth panel is black and cerise cable fleece, the same fabric that is used in the cuffs and collar. The last panel on the right is small and is wild orange and purple like wild flowers glimpsed in the woods.
The first panel on the left is made from fleece with orange, yellow, blue, and black foliage. The second panel is black with tiny specks of green, brown, and purple. The last panel is a beautiful renaissance baroque brocade in gold, burgundy wine, and black. There are two black front pockets, one on each side of the coat, and almost invisible.
The back of the coat has six panels down the center back in a flattering gentle curve in at the waist with brown cable fleece on the right edge and blue on the left edge.
This coat will be passed down to the daughters and nieces. It will become more loved as it becomes thread bare which will actually take a while as it is remarkable resilient and actually hand washable should one meet a dragon with an upset tummy!
